Festival Coordinator, Benjamin Hall

Since 2013, the overall coordination of the Summer Solstice Jazz Festival has been administered by Benjamin Hall, a local event planner, arts advocate and musician. Mr. Hall has brought exciting new programming in his 4 short years. Including the festival's Second-Line Parade, Kozmic Picnik, MSU Outreach and Engagement Stage and the new Westside Jazz Party In the Park. He has also helped the festival form partnerships with the Eli & Edythe Broad Art Museum, Ann Arbor's Kerrytown Concert House, Westside Neighborhood Association and Jazz Tuesday's at Moriarty's. 

Benjamin 
received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis on Mass Media and Music from Michigan State University in the spring of 2010, and served as the Stage Coordinator and as a member of the Music Selection Committee for the Old Town Jazzfest and Bluesfest from 2009-2012. Mr. Hall began booking the talent on the “West Stage” at the East Lansing Art Festival, (ELAF), 6 years ago, and took over selecting musicians for the “Main Stage” in 2011. Benjamin also plays in and promotes 2 popular local bands.
