June 21-22, 2013

Take in a two-day, jazz-infused festival in the heart of downtown East Lansing. This extraordinary FREE event features a high-caliber bevy of local and national jazz performers in the heart of downtown East Lansing (Lot 1). The festival is produced by the City of East Lansing, Wharton Center for Performing Arts and the MSU College of Music.

Attracting Jazz Lovers and Creating New Ones

This year, with the assistance of Michigan State University, the SSJF strengthens its commitment to music education with the addition of the "MSU Educational Stage." This performance area will give local high school and young up-and-coming jazz musicians an opportunity to perform on stage at a major jazz festival. The 2013 performers are JAMM Sandy Izenson Scholarship 2012 Recipient Noah Frankforter, Saginaw Area Youth Jazz Ensemble, Ann Arbor Pioneer High School Jazz Combo and East Lansing High School Jazz Combo.
